Production Diary: Sketches For Digipak

During this week, I have continued with my sketches for my digipack. I have successfully completed this task by continuingly looking at existing digipacks for ideas. Due to my music video being part of the pop genre, I have noticed that pop digipacks tend to have a message from the artist to the fans. Therefore I have also included this in my sketches. Also for the sketches I have based the photos on photos that I plan to take at my photo shoot. 

Sketches of Digipack

This is a complete sketch of my digipack, I have used a close up for my front cover as I believe by using these shots it draws the audience in. I will also take a picture of high heels and add the lyrics "I bought a new pair of shoes", this is because this is the hit single for this album and by including this highlights the single even more to the audience. 

The CD, will have a picture of either my artist or the pattern of her dress, however I still haven’t decided this. I will decide this when I do my photo shoot and put together the digipack as this will give me more of a clear idea as I will be able to see everything clearly. 

The back page of the digipack will include all the songs on Pixie Lott's album; the back of the digipack will also include key details such as websites. 

I will also include a message to the fans; this is typically found in the pop genre. This will be a message thanking the fans for all the help they have been etc. I will also include a simple picture of my artist in the digipack to emphasise her image.

Production Diary: My Blog

Over the weekend I put together a PowerPoint of the state of where my blog is up to, this clearly shows what I have and haven’t done. Also this emphasises mostly on the things I haven’t done as improvements I need to do over the next couple of weeks in order to make sure all my posts are to a high standard. By making this PowerPoint I have noticed that many of my posts have been created using PowerPoint, this lacks creativity as I know I can improve this by showing more multimedia initiative. In the next future posts I am aiming to include videos and voice over’s so that my blog has a variety of multimedia things and not just PowerPoint’s.

Production Diary: Existing Digipaks

In today's lesson, I began looking at existing digipak ideas in order to come up with an idea for my digipak. Some examples of digipaks that I came across:

These examples are examples of a pop genred digipak, these inspired me with the layout and the content included. I like the idea of having close ups on the front, this draws the audience in. Also there are colour schemes involved which aren't too bright nor too dark. For example the black and white one of Rihanna is a good example as it is black and white however continues to follow the red colour scheme of her other album Loud. 

I began to create my digipak and completed two sides of it. 

I will be using a close up image of my artist on the front page with her initial as her name. This is because she is already a well known artist. Also this is why I have only included text as the album name as the audience should be able to identify with it this way. On the back page I have included a long shot of my artist and have listed the number of songs down the side. Also included the web addresses.
